Excerpts from a day in the life of Howling Duck Ranch.com weblog
This is the blog for our little farm in Skagit county. Here we have Shetland sheep and Nigerian Dwarf goats. In addition we have donkeys, cattle, pigs, chickens, geese, and peafowl. The blog describes the weekly activities here.
This site is about my life as a farmgirl, wife, mother and grandmother. We have a beautiful 22 year old granddaughter and and the cutest 3 year old grandson. We own two farms in Craig County Virginia, leasing one and raising beef cattle on the other.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Rita. If anything exemplifies “All is safely gathered in, ere the winter storms begin,” it is the life you share so well in your blog. We celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving in early Oct (we needed to gather our harvest earlier!), but, among many other things, I am thankful for having you as a blogging friend. At this very moment I am working on a new quilting project for my granddaughter. How about you?! 😉

You are always so kind and I’m totally gratified if I encourage one person to try some of the things I do. I’ve let down my blog followers this year by not posting as much but hope to remedy that from now on. The entire year slipped by in the blink of an eye and to catch up writing about the work and adventures may come through the winter. I hope you will post on the progress of your quilt as I hope to do because that sampler quilt has been in block stages way too long! 🙂
Have a wonderful week!
