My flowers are gone and this is the last of my beautiful roses.
Country Girl Through & Through
I'm a country girl from the western part of Virginia in a small community of New Castle/Craig County. I've lived in Craig all my life-eighteen years with my parents and siblings and forty + years with my wonderful husband.
We have two children, a boy and a girl, and two grandchildren, all of which we love very much. We live on a 500 acre+ farm that has been in my husbands family for over 200 years. We are raising beef cattle, chickens, rabbits and a couple dogs.. We grow pretty much all we eat or harvest from the farm and I can't imagine living anywhere else.
I love to create, craft, quilt, read, write, decorate, crochet, candlewick, bake, bow hunt, cook, garden, farm animals and walking/hunting in the woods. I love sharing our home with family and friends.
I hope you enjoy the posts that I enter on my blog and hopefully will be helpful and/or fun to all that read it.Blog Stats

It’s so weird that my mini roses are in bloom right now. They died out pretty early in our very hot summer and are beautiful right now. Tomorrow it’s going to be close to 80 degrees here….ugh…so ready for winter lol!!

We had an old pear tree and an old apple tree blooming in the middle of the tree last month. The apple tree does it every year but it’s first time we’ve seen the pear tree do it. We had the heavy frost last week and I’m sure it killed anything that may have developed from the bloom.

I was surprised we had any apples as they were blooming in March due to the warm winter and then in April we had a few days of frost and everything died. So was happy to get more apples than we were expecting.

Thank you for following. I’m always amazed at the amount of people that don’t even know me that follow my posts. I think farming is of interest to everyone these days and country is the REAL thing! Have you moved into your new house yet?? It’s gorgeous and looks to be out in the country too!
